Notice of 2008-2009 AGM

The 2008/2009 Annual Meeting of the Acadia Cinema Cooperative Limited will be held at 7:30pm on Tuesday, November 3rd at the Al Whittle Theatre, Main Street, Wolfville.

Chair Stephen Peters hopes to see many share holders there. “It’s been a year of tremendous achievements for the Co-op and we have a lot to celebrate together”, he said.

As well as the business meeting, there will be a digital screening of NFB shorts on BluRay to showcase the new digital projector which was purchased in April.

A progress report on the “Sink The Mortgage” share purchase plan is also on the agenda. This three year effort encourages share holders to purchase just one share each year for three years. So far, in its first year the plan has garnered enough support to allow the doubling of five mortgage payments. Share purchases are eligible for the Provincial Equity Tax Credit until October 31, “so there is still time to help the Co-op and enjoy a tax break at the same time”, said Peters.
